Early Life

Cansu was born in Istanbul, Turkey, weighing only 3.8 pounds.

Despite doctors’ predictions, she survived and grew up to be an active and determined individual.

At the age of nine months, Cansu started walking and quickly became an energetic toddler. However, at two years old, she suddenly stopped walking, and doctors were unable to determine the cause of her symptoms.

It wasn’t until her father discovered a tiny piece of broken glass in her left heel that she was able to walk again.

This experience ignited her love for running, which led her to join the Turkish National track team for several years.

Fun Fact

Cansu’s determination and perseverance were evident at a young age when she approached her track and field teacher in elementary school, expressing her desire to join the team.

Despite being told she was not strong enough to run, Cansu persisted and eventually proved her teacher wrong by winning the 200m race.

Cansu continued to pursue her passion for sports and fitness throughout her life. She represented Türkiye internationally, breaking national records and qualifying for the 2008 and 2012 Olympic Games. Alongside her athletic career, she also earned a degree in Exercise Science from a top university in Türkiye.
